Licensure and Certification services are provided to all professional teaching and administrative staff of local and other participating districts.
The following services are available:
- Approval of certificate renewals, upgrades, and transitions.
- Provide notification of expiring certificates/licenses to district personnel.
- Secure substitute teacher applications with required BCI fingerprint results, TB test results and certificate for submission to ODE.
- Supply certification forms and seek answers to certification questions for district personnel.
Initial and First Five-Year License:
If you are seeking your initial license, you may do that directly through the Ohio Department of Education. If you need assistance, you may contact Nan Karako at the Lake County ESC.
Planning For your Five-Year License Renewal:
When you begin planning to renew your five-year license, you must go through your Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC). Click here for LPDC information and forms.
State Licensed Professionals:
If you are an SLP, OT, Psychologist, or other state licensed professional, you MUST also obtain an ODE license. Please contact Nan Karako for assistance.
