Dr. Tom Stone
Director, Region 4 SST
|
Tom Stone brings a wealth of academic experience to his position as Director of Region 4. In his 35 plus years in education he served in nearly every role in a school building and school district from school psychologist to assistant superintendent.
A significant part of his responsibilities at Region 4 is to facilitate the region's work associated with the Ohio Improvement Process (OIP). The OIP affords districts with an intense data based tool for improving achievement for all children. The State Support Team also provides technical assistance and professional development in the areas of special education, parent support, assistive technology and early childhood.
Dr. Stone joined the State Support Team Region 4 as a school improvement and special education consultant in 2007. He has served as the director since the fall of 2009. The State Support Team Region 4 is a state agency that combines regional services provided for Lake and Geauga Counties.
Dr. Stone served for many years as a principal and central office administrator for the Cardinal Local Schools. Dr. Stone has extensive experience in the areas of special education and curriculum. Dr. Stone is an adjunct professor at Cleveland State University. He has earned a B.S. in Psychology, an M.A. and Ed.S. in School Psychology and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and School Psychology.
