Welcome to State Support Team Region 4!
I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. 
I am Dr. Teresa Brown and I am the director of State Support Team Region 4. I have been a consultant with the State Support Team since 2014. Throughout that time, the focus of my work has been supporting special education, early childhood, literacy, and school improvement. Prior to joining the State Support Team, I held positions as a Special Education Coordinator and Intervention Specialist. I am excited to begin this new journey as we continue to support the districts in Lake and Geauga County.
The State Support Team is made up of 16 regions across Ohio. State Support Team Region 4 supports all of the districts and community schools in Lake and Geauga counties. As a part of the State System of Support, the State Support Team collaborates with schools, families and regional partners through a continuous improvement process to ensure each child in Ohio has access to a high-quality education. We focus on leadership and team development, and inclusive instruction practices to assist districts and schools in improving outcomes for each child.
The amount of services and support a district may receive from the State Support team is based on district data and needs identified by the Ohio Department of Education. Service is targeted to the school districts and buildings as identified in our differentiated accountability system by the Office for Improvement and Innovation as well as those identified by the Office for Exceptional Children as Needs Assistance, Needs Intervention or Needs Substantial Intervention.
SST4 provides free professional development and support to meet the many and varied needs of the districts and community schools. State Support Team, Region 4 (SST4) supports districts and community schools in Lake and Geauga counties in closing achievement gaps for students with disabilities and all other underperforming groups by helping them develop efficient, effective systems and processes, and by supporting use of research-based instructional practices.
SST4 offers professional development opportunities, networks, and technical assistance for all districts and community schools in our region, with a focus on early learning and school readiness, systemic school improvement/Ohio Improvement Process, inclusive instructional practices, multi-tiered systems of support (including Response to Intervention and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports), and special education.
