Special educators are known for their expertise in effective instructional strategies for students with exceptionalities. With the advent of No Child Left Behind, we are also required to be experts in content and the general education curriculum.
Effectively bringing all of this expertise to the classroom requires adhering to organizational principles designed to help all students learn, and yet allowing for their individual variations. Classroom instruction should be tied to state and district curriculum standards and objectives, and at some level, be appropriate for all students.
